Since its founding in 1970, NHI has been more than just a training provider—it has been a driving force behind America’s transportation evolution. Born out of a vision to create a safer, smarter, and more efficient national transportation system, NHI has grown into a trusted leader in technical training and workforce development for transportation professionals across the country.

In its early years, NHI offered only a few courses focused on basic transportation topics. Today, our Course Catalog features hundreds of offerings covering a range of program areas that provide flexibility and options for the busy professional.

More than a Curriculum: A Passion Behind Our Mission 

For more than 50 years, NHI has remained steadfast in its mission to empower transportation professionals through exceptional training, cutting-edge resources, and a collaborative spirit. From traffic analysts and planners to safety specialists and bridge inspectors, NHI has trained hundreds of thousands of individuals who design, build, maintain, and improve our highways and infrastructure every day.
