This tool is the first of two user guides that accompany the Improving Safety on Rural Local and Tribal Roads-Safety Toolkit. The user guide demonstrates how to use the tools provided in the Toolkit for a specific example of a horizontal curve on a rural roadway. Specifically, it provides example applications of the following five steps from the Toolkit’s step-by-step process: compile data; diagnose site conditions and identify countermeasures; prioritize countermeasures for implementation; implement countermeasures; and evaluate effectiveness of implemented countermeasures.
