Traffic Noise Model Development
Project Information
Federal Highway Administration's (FHWA’s) traffic noise model (TNM), is a regulatory model for conducting noise studies on Type I and II projects. Volpe will support FHWA’s development of the TNM version 3 series, specifically TNM 3.0, including the graphical user interface (GUI), database, and acoustics. This support involves providing research and guidance on database requirements for the core acoustics, design intents for various components of the GUI, and model acoustic improvements.
