Project Abstract:
Connectivity and the ability to exchange data with mobile devices in real time has the potential to improve travel safety and the travel experience for both the users of the system and the agencies that manage and operate the systems.
This project explores how data from existing intelligent transportation system (ITS) devices and emerging data derived from travelers, vehicles, infrastructure, and other sources offer new options for agencies to consider collecting and using to improve their transportation systems. The technical resources this project will develop will assist agencies as they evaluate, plan, or develop efforts associated with the sharing of data with mobile devices.
