Improved Corrosion Resistant Steel for Highway Bridges Construction
Project Information
The objective of this research study is to produce improved Corrosion Resistant Steel (CRES) for highway bridge construction. There is a need to develop an economical steel grade that is suitable for use in highway bridge service that does not require a supplemental protective coating. This laboratory research project will produce candidate steels, identify necessary heat treatment parameters, and measure corrosion and mechanical properties relevant to bridge applications.
