Transportation Pooled Fund Studies
A pooled fund study is a project to address a new area of research or improvement. When there is an interest presented in solving transportation-related problems, the research and planning associated with an investigation may be funded by several Federal, State, regional, and local transportation agencies, academic institutions, foundations, or private firms. This pooling of resources contributes to the pooled fund study.
The Long-Term Pavement Performance (LTPP) program is supporting the continuation of the forensic pooled fund study, LTPP Forensic Investigations – Stage, TPF-5(500) by assisting the State/Provincial highway agencies with conducting forensic studies at LTPP test sites.
The other study that the LTPP is supporting and is currently in the solicitation phase (Solicitation 1581) will look at the long-term performance of pavement preservation treatments.
