Pavement preservation is an effective practice that can significantly extend the life of pavement. Although treatment selection focuses on variables such as existing condition, traffic, and climate, treatment in urban environments requires consideration of additional challenges that can increase the complexity of a preservation project. These challenges may arise at different stages of the project, from planning to construction, and may have significant effects on work zone durations; costs; and other considerations, including environmental aspects. This
two-webinar series provides an overview of various considerations for pavement
preservation in urban settings.
