HRSO - Roadside Safety
The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Office of Safety Research and Development Roadside Safety Research Program primarily supports the U.S. Department of Transportation’s (USDOT) strategic goal to reduce fatalities and injuries on the Nation’s roadways. The program also serves to enhance efforts to improve safety worldwide. The mission of the Roadside Safety Research program includes the following:
HRSO - Connected Vehicles
The Connected Vehicle (CV) Safety Research program focuses on CV technology, emphasizing safety, coordinated research, development, testing, and deployment of vehicle-to-everything (V2X) components, hardware, and applications under the Intelligent Transportation Systems Joint Program Office’s (ITS JPO’s) CV program. Efforts are directed toward producing products and reports that can be used to develop countermeasures for reducing the number of crashes and improving highway safety.
