Project Abstract:
An emerging area in the field of asphalt materials is artificial intelligence (AI). More specifically, this encompasses integration of big data concepts and automated data collection into models which can better inform practitioners than traditional methods. While AI is widely used in the transportation engineering community, its usage in asphalt materials is limited. The intended vision is to span all areas of asphalt materials research, including the pavement testing facility.
