Grout Performance in Staged Construction Connections
Project Information
This research aims to identify parameters critical to the performance of field-cast grout systems used in staged construction connections. The grout bondability performance will be assessed in terms of the frequency and amplitude of the movement applied to embedded elements during the curing process.
Goals:
The objective of this research is to assess the performance of field-cast grouts, which fill bridge deck staged construction connections. These connections frequently connect between loaded and unloaded portions of the bridge, resulting in differential deflection between the sides of the connection prior to grout curing. The performance of the connection may be impacted by any deformations induced into connecting elements embedded in the grout.
