Parker Edwards
Parker Edwards is the Director of Governmental Affairs for the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) at the U.S. Department of Transportation. As the FHWA Director of Governmental Affairs, Edwards provides critical support for Trump Administration initiatives; policy; priorities; legislative activities; and congressional, stakeholder, and intergovernmental matters. Edwards has experience with a wide array of legislative matters related to both authorizations and appropriations, including transportation, healthcare, housing, education, financial services, taxes, labor, homeland security, and immigration.
Prior to joining the FHWA, Edwards worked in the U.S. House of Representatives as the Legislative Director for Washington State Representative Michael Baumgartner; he also served in numerous roles for California Representative David Valadao. He worked on a number of policy areas and other matters under the jurisdiction of the House Judiciary Committee and the Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development Appropriations Subcommittee.
Edwards displayed an affinity for public service from the earliest days of his career, which began during his time as a community liaison for Brian Maryott’s congressional campaign in Orange County, California, and gained focus when he accepted a legislative intern position with Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton. He graduated from the University of California – Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Philosophy. A proud Californian and member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity, Edwards enjoys golfing, travelling, and cheering on the Los Angeles Dodgers.
